Personal History, Artistic Medium, InspirationProfile/Philosophy
denise is a Metis artist of the Algonquin Kitchissippi (people of the Great River). She now lives in central British Columbia experiencing a Canadian wilderness where speaking – to and through – nature come as a matter of fact. She is self taught and works with clay, wood carving and painting with weaving and music on the side. During her working life as a medical technologist, she always had to be in control and very detailed.
Through her art she relinquishes that control and allows the nature of her art to manifest itself in randomness
Personal History
denise was born and raised in Wawa, Ontario – (Ojibway for Land of theWild Goose). Summers were spent on the shores of the magnificent Lake Superior where the vast crystal clear waters harboured spiritual entities. She now lives at Canim Lake, British Columbia and works full time with her art. During her working life her art took a back seat, until retirement in 2008

Inspiration
Mother Nature, geomancy features and an intuitive relationship to Metis ancestry are the basis of her works. Images seen in the trees, lakes and fire manifest in one medium or another
End products are the natural release of images that reside within and have been searching for a creative outlet
